BrightEdge alternatives compared on AI visibilitySeven AI visibility and SEO platforms to weigh if you’re looking past BrightEdge

Seven platforms to weigh against BrightEdge, depending on whether you need a published price, more AI engines, the searches behind each answer, or your own agent doing the work.

Jonathan Boshoff · October 14, 2026 · 11 min read

The alternatives to BrightEdge for AI visibility are Omnipresence, Conductor, seoClarity, Siteimprove, Profound, the Semrush AI Visibility tool and AthenaHQ. BrightEdge is the enterprise SEO and AEO platform at brightedge.com, sold on a demo with no published price, and built for midsize to global teams. They split on how many AI engines each tracks, whether the price is on a page or behind a sales call, what you see behind an answer, and how much of the fix the tool does for you.

If BrightEdge’s sales-quoted price or its engine set doesn’t fit, or you want the work done rather than just scored, a different tool is worth a look. The cheapest published entry here is an AI SEO platform at $19 a month; the rest run from a free tier to enterprise sales.

What BrightEdge does well, and when an alternative fits

BrightEdge is an enterprise SEO and AEO platform that covers traditional search and AI answers in one suite. Its AI line tracks visibility across Google Search, Google AI Overviews, ChatGPT and Perplexity, with brand mentions, sentiment and visibility opportunities, and Agent Edge is pitched at lifting brand recommendations from AI agents.

Behind that sit a handful of named products: AI Hyper Cube for the AI-interaction analysis, AI Catalyst as its generative parser, Autopilot for automatic on-site optimisations, Copilot for the insights, and Data Cube X as its research engine. It sells to four segments, from midsize business to global multi-market, with enterprise reporting, integrations and security.

It doesn’t publish a price. The only way in is a demo, so you’re in an enterprise sales conversation before you know the number, and the engines it advertises are Google AI Overviews, ChatGPT and Perplexity, with no Claude or Gemini named on the homepage.

A different tool fits when what you need isn’t another enterprise suite. If a published price matters, or more AI engines than BrightEdge advertises, or the searches behind each answer rather than a visibility score, or your own agent doing the work, the alternatives below are built for those.

Omnipresence

Best for: knowing exactly what to fix, and getting it fixed

If BrightEdge hands you visibility insights and on-site optimisations but you still do the work inside an enterprise suite, Omnipresence is the one to look at first. It shows which buyer questions you’re losing on ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini and Perplexity, the pages beating you, and whether AI puts you forward as a pick or just names you in passing, with each question asked many times so the share of voice holds up in a boardroom.

Then it hands the fix to the agent you already use, on Pro and up, over a two-way MCP connection, with a dated record of what changed. A few questions stay untouched as a comparison, so you can prove the lift was your work and not a model shift, and there’s no cap on tracked questions.

Plans start at $19 a month on Starter, $69 on Pro and $239 on Agency, billed annually, with a 7-day trial on Pro.

Pros

  • Which questions you’re losing and the pages beating you, including pages the assistant read but never cited
  • Whether AI recommends you or just names you, asked many times
  • Proof the lift was your work, with a dated record of what changed
  • Your own agent runs the playbook on Pro and up
  • No cap on tracked questions

Cons

  • Four assistants only, ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini and Perplexity, so no AI Overviews or AI Mode tracking, which BrightEdge advertises
  • You bring your own OpenRouter or OpenAI key and pay the model cost at list price
  • Top-choice data is partial
  • It measures recommendations and citations rather than traffic, pipeline or revenue
  • No built-in automatic on-site optimisation like BrightEdge’s Autopilot, and no ongoing technical site-health monitoring

Conductor

Best for: the closest like-for-like enterprise peer

Conductor is the other enterprise SEO and AEO platform, and the nearest like-for-like peer to BrightEdge. It tracks AI visibility across ChatGPT, Gemini, Copilot, Claude, Perplexity and Google AI Overviews, plus traditional search, and says it connects that presence to traffic, conversions and revenue. If you’re comparing enterprise suites head to head, this is the one.

Its products are Conductor Intelligence, Creator for AI content, Monitoring for technical health and AI bot crawl alerts, and AgentStack, which adds an MCP server, APIs and turnkey content and technical agents. Pricing is usage-based across Essentials, Growth and Enterprise, with no published USD price, on its pricing page.

Pros

  • Enterprise SEO and AEO in one platform
  • More AI engines named than BrightEdge advertises, including Gemini, Copilot and Claude
  • Its own MCP server and agents in AgentStack
  • AI content creation in Creator, and a free AI Visibility Report

Cons

  • No published USD price on any tier, so price isn’t a reason to switch from BrightEdge
  • Another enterprise sales relationship
  • The traffic, conversions and revenue link is Conductor’s own claim, not something measured here

seoClarity

Best for: published starting prices and an MCP server of its own

seoClarity is a unified SEO and AEO platform for enterprises and agencies, and it’s the one on this list that publishes prices. Its AI line is Clarity ArcAI: AI Search Visibility Tracking, AI Overviews Tracking, Research Prompts, AI Sentiment Analysis, AI Content Optimizer, AI Bot Activity Tracking, and AI Search Accuracy Protection, which is its hallucination detection.

It also ships an MCP server and API into ChatGPT and Claude, and ClarityAutomate adds a bot optimizer, page and schema optimizer, SEO split tester and link seeker. Published plans start at $2,500 a month for Research and Content, $3,200 for Technical SEO and $4,500 for Enterprise, on its pricing page, though the base Rankings tier is custom-quoted and the page labels those figures representative, as of October 2022. If you want a price on the page before the sales call, it’s the pick.

Pros

  • Enterprise SEO and AEO in one platform
  • An MCP server and API into ChatGPT and Claude
  • AI Overviews tracking, AI bot activity tracking and hallucination detection
  • Publishes starting prices, which BrightEdge and Conductor don’t

Cons

  • Enterprise-priced, from $2,500 a month, well above a small team
  • The published figures are dated representative numbers and the base tier is custom
  • Another enterprise sales relationship

Siteimprove

Best for: teams that want SEO, accessibility and AEO in one platform

Siteimprove is an enterprise platform whose Search module covers traditional SEO and AEO together, and tracks performance across Google, ChatGPT, Claude and AI Overviews in one view, on its own claim. That’s the angle a BrightEdge user gets here that BrightEdge’s homepage doesn’t name: Claude tracking, plus accessibility and content quality alongside the SEO and AEO work.

It includes a Conversational Analytics Agent for plain-language questions about traffic, behaviour and ROI data, a free AEO Checker, a free SEO Checker and a free Digital Insights Report. It doesn’t publish standard pricing, so the way in is a demo, like BrightEdge. If you already audit accessibility alongside SEO, it folds both in.

Pros

  • SEO, accessibility and content quality in one platform
  • Tracks Google, ChatGPT, Claude and AI Overviews in one view, and BrightEdge’s homepage doesn’t name Claude
  • Free AEO Checker, SEO Checker and Digital Insights Report
  • A Conversational Analytics Agent for plain-language questions

Cons

  • No published USD price, enterprise sales, like BrightEdge
  • Fewer AI engines than Profound or AthenaHQ’s model lists
  • Positioned around accessibility and content quality as much as AI visibility, so the AI-visibility depth is narrower than a specialist

Profound

Best for: going deep on AI visibility only, at enterprise scale

Profound is the specialist AI-visibility-only pick, built for enterprise. On Enterprise it tracks up to nine engines, ChatGPT, Perplexity, Google AI Mode, Gemini, Microsoft Copilot, DeepSeek, Claude, Google AI Overviews and Exa Search, with unlimited seats, Answer Engine Insights, Prompt Volumes and reusable agents.

A free trial covers 50 prompts a day for seven days across ChatGPT, Gemini and AI Overviews, on its pricing page. Enterprise pricing isn’t published, so you talk to sales after the trial, and its own head-to-head with BrightEdge is on this SERP. If you want AI-visibility depth and nothing else, it fits.

Pros

  • Up to nine AI engines on Enterprise, the most on this list
  • Unlimited seats
  • Prompt-volume and answer-engine insight
  • A free trial before a sales conversation

Cons

  • No published USD price, Enterprise is sales-quoted, like BrightEdge
  • Sized and priced for enterprise, not a small team
  • AI-visibility-only, so teams that also want traditional SEO, content and technical modules still need something else

Semrush AI Visibility

Best for: a published-price standalone AI visibility tool from a known SEO vendor

The Semrush AI Visibility tool is a standalone product at $99 a month per domain, billed annually, with no full Semrush plan required. On the base plan it tracks mentions from ChatGPT, Google AI, Gemini and Perplexity, with 25 custom prompts and 300 reports a day, and the reporting is familiar if you’ve used Semrush.

It’s the lowest published entry on this list after Omnipresence, and a team that wants a second tool without a sales call fits here. Per-domain pricing is the catch, because it stacks at $99 a month for each brand you track.

Pros

  • A published $99 a month price, no sales call
  • Standalone, no full Semrush plan required
  • Familiar Semrush reporting
  • Includes Gemini, which BrightEdge’s homepage doesn’t name

Cons

  • Per-domain pricing stacks at $99 a month for each brand, so a multi-brand agency pays per property
  • Only four engines and 25 prompts on the base plan
  • AI-visibility-only rather than a full SEO suite like BrightEdge

AthenaHQ

Best for: many AI models on a credit budget

AthenaHQ is an AEO and GEO platform that tracks how a brand appears across AI platforms, flags visibility gaps and hallucinations, and gives content recommendations. Its Essential plan is free, with 300 credits and five models, ChatGPT, Perplexity, Google AI Overviews, Gemini and Copilot, and Starter is $295 a month for 3,600 credits and 11+ models, adding Google AI Mode, Claude, Grok, DeepSeek, Meta AI and Mistral, on its plans page. One credit is one AI response, so the credit ceiling is the thing to watch at volume.

Beyond tracking it does prompt and response analysis, source and competitor insights, a content optimisation agent with self-learning improvement, citation intelligence, hallucination detection and an Ask Athena agentic copilot. It integrates with GA4, Google Search Console, Shopify, Webflow and Framer. If you track many models and want to pay by usage, the credit model fits.

Pros

  • 11+ AI models on the $295 Starter plan, more than BrightEdge advertises
  • A permanent free Essential tier
  • A credit model that scales with usage
  • A content optimisation agent and hallucination detection in one tool

Cons

  • $295 a month Starter is above Semrush’s $99 and Omnipresence’s $19
  • A credit ceiling, at one credit per response
  • Starter is single-language and single-region, with API access and extra credits as paid add-ons
  • AI-visibility-focused rather than a full enterprise SEO suite like BrightEdge

How to choose a BrightEdge alternative

To choose a BrightEdge alternative for AI visibility, start with the engines your buyers actually use. BrightEdge advertises Google AI Overviews, ChatGPT and Perplexity, with no Claude or Gemini named on the homepage. Conductor adds Gemini, Copilot and Claude and keeps AI Overviews, Siteimprove tracks Google, ChatGPT, Claude and AI Overviews, Profound goes to nine, AthenaHQ to 11+, and Semrush covers four, ChatGPT, Google AI, Gemini and Perplexity.

Omnipresence tracks the four chat assistants, ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini and Perplexity. It leaves AI Overviews and AI Mode out.

A consumer brand living in Google’s AI Overviews and AI Mode needs those, and Omnipresence leaves them out, so it’s the wrong pick for that job. A B2B brand whose buyers ask ChatGPT and Perplexity may need only the four chat assistants, and nine engines is more than they’ll read.

Then look at how pricing scales once you run real volume. BrightEdge, Conductor, Siteimprove and Profound are sales-quoted, so you don’t see the number until the demo. seoClarity publishes from $2,500 a month, AthenaHQ’s credit model runs one credit per response with a free Essential tier, and Semrush charges $99 a month per domain, which stacks for agencies with many clients.

Omnipresence is a flat fee from $19 a month billed annually, plus the AI providers at list price, with no cap on tracked questions.

Last, how share of voice is measured, and who does the work after. A mention count treats the model like a black box that either says your name or doesn’t. The stronger signal is whether you were put forward as a pick or only named in passing, and how many times each question was asked, because one answer is basically a coin flip.

BrightEdge’s AI Hyper Cube tracks brand mentions, sentiment and visibility across ChatGPT and Google AI Overviews, on its own claim, so the thing to compare is whether a tool separates a recommendation from a passing mention and asks each question many times.

A visibility score tells you where you stand, and it doesn’t tell you which page to fix or fix it. If what you need is the work shipped, Omnipresence hands the target and the method to the agent you already use and logs what changed.

The gap is real: in our 10x AI Visibility Refresh study, Google rank and AI citation had basically no relationship over 91 days, and 41 cited pages had no Google impressions. Knowing your rank doesn’t tell you what to fix.

FAQ

How much does BrightEdge cost?

BrightEdge doesn’t publish USD prices, because it’s a demo and enterprise sales. Among the alternatives, Semrush publishes $99 a month per domain and Omnipresence starts at $19 a month billed annually, AthenaHQ publishes Starter at $295 a month with a free Essential tier, and Conductor, Siteimprove, Profound and seoClarity’s base tier are sales-quoted.

How does BrightEdge measure share of voice?

BrightEdge’s AI Hyper Cube tracks brand mentions, sentiment and visibility across ChatGPT and Google AI Overviews, on its own claim. The thing to compare across tools is whether it counts mentions or separates a recommendation from a passing mention, and how many times it asks each question, because a rate from many probes is the number that survives a review where one answer per question swings on a single response.

Is there a free BrightEdge alternative?

BrightEdge has no published free tier. Among the alternatives, AthenaHQ’s Essential plan is the only permanent free tier here, with 300 credits and five models, and Siteimprove offers free AEO and SEO checkers, which are tools rather than monitoring.

Semrush, Profound and Conductor run trials, and Omnipresence has a 7-day Pro trial. If free matters and five models is enough, AthenaHQ Essential is the honest pick.
