Conductor alternatives compared on AEO and SEOSix AEO and SEO platforms to weigh if you’re looking past Conductor

Six AEO and SEO platforms weighed against Conductor, from a published-price standalone tool to sales-quoted enterprise suites and a specialist AI visibility pick.

The best alternatives to Conductor for AEO and SEO are Omnipresence, BrightEdge, seoClarity, Profound, Semrush and AthenaHQ. Conductor is the enterprise AEO and SEO platform at conductor.com. These six alternatives to Conductor each fit a different reason to look past it: a published price instead of a sales call, more AI engines than Conductor, the searches behind an answer, or your own agent on the work.

If you want to know whether AI recommends you or just names you, and which pages decide that, an AI search visibility platform shows you the questions you’re losing and hands the fix to your own agent. BrightEdge and seoClarity are the closest enterprise peers. Semrush and AthenaHQ publish their prices where Conductor doesn’t.

What Conductor does well, and when an alternative fits

Conductor is an enterprise AEO and SEO platform that currently tracks AI visibility across ChatGPT, Gemini, Copilot, Claude and Perplexity, plus Google AI Overviews, alongside traditional search, and connects that presence to traffic, conversions and revenue. It covers the full enterprise scope in one suite: Conductor Intelligence for AI and search visibility, Creator for content, Monitoring for technical site health and AI bot crawl alerts, and an AgentStack with an MCP server, APIs and turnkey Content and Technical Agents. There’s a free AI Visibility Report for an instant read, and a Unified Data Engine with 10+ years of search data behind it.

It doesn’t publish a price. The pricing page lists Essentials, Growth and Enterprise tiers on a usage-based model that scales with AI Search Credits and pages analysed. Growth and Enterprise are sales-quoted, and Essentials has a free trial but no listed dollar figure.

For an enterprise team that wants one suite for SEO and AEO and is fine with a sales conversation, that’s a reasonable starting point.

An alternative fits when one of those pieces doesn’t line up. You want a published price instead of a sales call, more AI engines than Conductor, the searches behind each answer rather than a visibility score, or your own agent doing the work instead of Conductor’s built-in agents.

Conductor connects visibility to traffic, conversions and revenue, which matters if that’s your reporting line. If what you need is to know which pages decide each answer and go fix them, a different tool may fit better.

Omnipresence

Best for: running the whole GEO function through the agent you already use.

If you’re looking past Conductor because you can see the number but still have to do all the work, Omnipresence is the one to look at first. It shows you which buyer questions you’re losing on ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini and Perplexity, whether the assistant recommended you or only named you in passing, and the pages it read before answering, including pages it pulled but never cited.

Then it hands the target and the method to the agent your team already uses over MCP, so your own agent runs the audits, the rewrites and the outreach and logs what it changed. It runs supervised until it’s earned your trust.

Pricing is Starter $19, Pro $69, Agency $239 a month billed annually, with Enterprise custom, and a 7-day trial on Pro with no card. There’s no cap on tracked questions, and you bring your own OpenRouter or OpenAI key and pay the model cost at list price.

Pros

  • Your own agent runs the full AI SEO playbook, from audit to shipped page
  • Shows whether AI recommended you or just named you, and the pages that decided it
  • Each question asked many times, so the share of voice holds up in a boardroom
  • Control prompts left unworked, so a lift is attributable to your work
  • No cap on tracked questions; flat fee plus model cost at list price

Cons

  • Four assistants only (ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Perplexity); no AI Overviews, AI Mode, Copilot, Grok or DeepSeek tracking, where Conductor names Copilot and AI Overviews
  • You bring your own model key and pay the model cost
  • Top-choice data is partial
  • Doesn’t connect to traffic, conversions or revenue the way Conductor claims to; it measures recommendations and citations
  • No built-in content-creation agent or ongoing technical site-health monitoring

BrightEdge

Best for: enterprise teams that want a direct Conductor-style AEO suite.

BrightEdge is the closest enterprise peer to Conductor, currently covering Google Search, Google AI Overviews, ChatGPT and Perplexity, with products like Agent Edge for AI agent recommendations, AI Hyper Cube for brand mentions and sentiment, Autopilot for automatic on-site optimisation, and Data Cube X for keyword research on a long historical dataset. It sells to midsize, enterprise, global multi-market and local teams. If you’re comparing enterprise suites head to head, this is the nearest match.

It doesn’t publish pricing; you request a demo, same as Conductor, so price isn’t a reason to switch here.

Pros

  • Enterprise SEO and AEO in one platform
  • AI agent recommendation tracking (Agent Edge) and automated on-site optimisation (Autopilot)
  • Long historical keyword dataset

Cons

  • No published USD price; enterprise sales process
  • AI engine coverage advertised is Google AI Overviews, ChatGPT and Perplexity, fewer AI engines named than Conductor
  • Another enterprise sales relationship, not a self-serve option

seoClarity

Best for: enterprise teams that want AEO inside a known SEO platform with published prices.

seoClarity is a unified SEO and AEO platform for enterprises and agencies, and it publishes starting prices, which neither Conductor nor BrightEdge does. Its AI line is Clarity ArcAI: AI Search Visibility Tracking, AI Overviews Tracking, Research Prompts, AI Sentiment Analysis, an AI Content Optimizer, AI Bot Activity Tracking, and AI Search Accuracy Protection that flags hallucinations. It also ships an MCP server and API that plug AEO intelligence into ChatGPT and Claude, so it covers the same enterprise ground as Conductor with an agent connection of its own.

Its pricing page publishes starting prices but labels them representative figures as of October 11, 2022, subject to change: Research & Content from $2,500 a month, Technical SEO from $3,200 a month, Enterprise from $4,500 a month. The base Rankings tier is custom-quoted. Treat those figures as a 2022 reference, not a current quote.

Pros

  • Enterprise SEO and AEO in one platform
  • MCP server and API into ChatGPT and Claude
  • AI Overviews tracking, AI bot activity tracking and hallucination detection
  • Publishes starting prices, unlike Conductor and BrightEdge

Cons

  • Enterprise-priced: starts at $2,500 a month, well above a small team
  • Published prices are representative figures from 2022, and the base tier is custom
  • Another enterprise sales relationship

Profound

Best for: enterprise teams that want a specialist AI visibility platform.

Profound is built for enterprise and tracks up to 9 AI engines on its Enterprise plan (ChatGPT, Perplexity, Google AI Mode, Gemini, Microsoft Copilot, DeepSeek, Anthropic Claude, Google AI Overviews and Exa Search), with unlimited seats, Answer Engine Insights, Prompt Volumes and reusable Agents. A free trial covers 50 prompts a day for 7 days across ChatGPT, Gemini and AI Overviews. Where Conductor is a full SEO suite, Profound is the specialist AI-visibility-only pick, and it covers more AI engines than Conductor.

It doesn’t publish a USD price; Enterprise is sales-quoted on its pricing page.

Pros

  • Up to 9 AI engines on Enterprise, more than Conductor
  • Unlimited seats
  • Prompt-volume and answer-engine insight
  • Specialist AI visibility focus

Cons

  • AI-visibility only: no traditional SEO suite, no content creation, no ongoing technical site-health monitoring, where Conductor is the full suite
  • Sized and priced for enterprise, not a small team
  • Enterprise is sales-quoted, where Conductor at least names its tiers

Semrush AI Visibility

Best for: teams that want a published-price standalone AI visibility tool from a known SEO vendor.

Semrush AI Visibility is a standalone product, no full Semrush plan required, at $99 a month per domain billed annually. It currently tracks ChatGPT, Google AI, Gemini and Perplexity, with 25 custom prompts and 300 reports a day on the base plan. The reporting is familiar if you’ve used Semrush, which makes it an easy second tool for a team already in that ecosystem, and it’s the lowest published entry price on this list.

Pros

  • Published $99 a month entry, no sales call
  • Standalone, no full Semrush plan required
  • Familiar Semrush reporting

Cons

  • Per-domain pricing stacks at $99 a month for each brand, so a multi-brand agency pays per property
  • Only 4 engines and 25 prompts on the base plan
  • No Copilot, Claude, AI Overviews or AI Mode on the base plan

AthenaHQ

Best for: teams that want many AI models on a credit budget.

AthenaHQ is an AEO and GEO platform that tracks how a brand appears across AI platforms, flags visibility gaps and hallucinations, and gives content recommendations. Its Essential plan is free, with 300 credits and 5 models (ChatGPT, Perplexity, Google AI Overviews, Gemini, Copilot). Starter is $295 a month for 3,600 credits a month and 11+ models, adding Google AI Mode, Claude, Grok, DeepSeek, Meta AI and Mistral (see the plans page).

One credit equals one AI response. Beyond tracking, you get prompt and response analysis, source and competitor insights, a content optimisation agent, citation intelligence, hallucination detection and an Ask Athena agentic copilot, with integrations into GA4, Google Search Console, Shopify, Webflow and Framer.

Pros

  • 11+ AI models on $295 Starter, more AI engines than Conductor advertises
  • A free Essential tier, the only permanent free one in this set
  • Credit model that scales with usage
  • Content optimisation agent and hallucination detection in one tool

Cons

  • $295 a month Starter is above Semrush’s $99 and Omnipresence’s $19
  • Credit ceiling: one credit per response
  • Starter is single-language and single-region
  • API access and extra credits are paid add-ons on Starter

How to choose a Conductor alternative

Three questions settle how to choose a Conductor alternative: which engines you need, how the price scales, and who does the work.

Which engines do you actually need? Conductor currently tracks ChatGPT, Gemini, Copilot, Claude and Perplexity, plus Google AI Overviews. Profound and AthenaHQ cover more AI models than that on their enterprise tiers, and Semrush tracks four.

Omnipresence tracks four assistants only, ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini and Perplexity, and doesn’t claim AI Overviews or AI Mode. Pick the tool that covers the engines your buyers actually use, not the longest list.

How does the price scale once you run real volume? Conductor, BrightEdge and Profound are sales-quoted and usage-based, so the bill moves with credits and pages. seoClarity publishes starting prices from $2,500 a month, AthenaHQ runs a credit model at one credit per response, and Semrush stacks at $99 a month per domain.

Omnipresence is a flat fee from $19 a month billed annually plus the model cost at list price, with no cap on tracked questions. Figure the all-in number before you commit.

Who does the work? Conductor’s AgentStack ships its own Content and Technical Agents, BrightEdge has Autopilot, and AthenaHQ has its content agent and Ask Athena. Omnipresence takes a different line: it hands the target and the method to the agent you already use, and logs what changed.

If you want the vendor’s agent to do it, Conductor and BrightEdge are built for that. If you want your own agent on the work, that’s the Omnipresence angle.

Underlying all three, Google rank and AI citation had basically no relationship over 91 days in our 10x AI Visibility Refresh study, where 98 refreshed posts lifted citations 10x with nothing new published. So tracking where you rank doesn’t tell you which page to fix, which is the case for a tool that shows the searches behind each answer.

FAQ

How much does Conductor cost?

Conductor doesn’t publish USD prices. Its Essentials, Growth and Enterprise tiers are quoted on a demo or sales call, and the model is usage-based, so cost scales with AI Search Credits and pages analysed. Essentials has a free trial but no listed price.

Among the alternatives, Semrush publishes $99 a month per domain and Omnipresence starts at $19 a month billed annually. BrightEdge and Profound are sales-quoted, and seoClarity publishes representative figures from 2022 starting at $2,500 a month.

Is there a free Conductor alternative?

Conductor’s Essentials has a free trial. Among the alternatives, AthenaHQ’s Essential plan is the only permanent free tier in this set, with 300 credits and 5 models. Profound offers a 7-day trial at 50 prompts a day, and Semrush and Omnipresence both offer trials (Omnipresence’s is a 7-day Pro trial, no card).

BrightEdge and seoClarity are demo-quoted, so you’d talk to sales before you see anything. If free matters and 5 models is enough, AthenaHQ Essential is the honest pick.
