Teach the models what your brand is, across the sources they already trust.

Updated October 8, 2026

Before a model can recommend you it has to know what you are. Entity work is making your brand an unambiguous thing with stable attributes, corroborated in the places models already read.

Say the same thing everywhere

The fastest way to be ignored is to describe yourself differently in six places. Name, category, location, founding, leadership and what you sell should match across your site, your profiles, your listings and your press. Contradictions do not average out; they lower confidence.

Corroboration beats assertion

Your own site claiming you are a leading provider counts for very little. The same fact appearing on sources the model trusts counts for a great deal. That is why review platforms, industry directories, trade press and well-kept profiles do disproportionate work here.

Structured data is the cheap part

JSON-LD gives typed facts rather than prose a parser has to infer. Organization and Product markup, sameAs links to your real profiles, and consistent naming cost an afternoon and remove ambiguity permanently.

Table stakes

  • One canonical description of the business, used everywhere.
  • Organization JSON-LD with sameAs pointing at profiles you control.
  • Profiles claimed and current on the platforms your category uses.
  • Third-party sources that state your core facts independently.
  • A quarterly check for contradictions, because old listings drift.
