Profound alternatives compared on what they trackSeven tools to weigh up if you’re looking past Profound

Profound offers a free trial and Enterprise custom pricing, with no published USD price. If you want a different size, a published price, or the chain behind each answer, here are the alternatives.

Some alternatives to Profound publish a price Profound doesn’t, some track engines Profound’s entry trial doesn’t, and some show you the chain behind an answer instead of a mention rate. Omnipresence leads this list because it records that chain, and the six tools after it each fit a different kind of Profound user.

Most of these tools hand you a mention rate and stop there. The chain behind an answer, the searches and sources that produced it, is the part you can actually work, and it’s what moves AI search visibility over time. A score tells you it moved, but the chain tells you what to go and fix.

What Profound does well, and when an alternative fits

Profound is an enterprise AI visibility platform with broad engine coverage. Its homepage names seven answer engines, including Google AI Overviews, Microsoft Copilot and DeepSeek, and its own page calls out “Enterprise capabilities trusted by a third of the Fortune 100.”

Its Agent Analytics shows how AI crawlers and agents view, cite and refer to your pages, and its Shopping feature tracks product visibility inside ChatGPT Shopping. Its AI Marketer runs marketing work on credits allocated per plan. These are enterprise features for a team that already has one.

An alternative fits when one of those is wrong for you. You want a published price, you have a smaller team than Profound is built for, or you want the chain behind each answer instead of a visibility score. It’s an enterprise tool sized and priced for a specific kind of buyer, and the alternatives below cover the rest.

Profound alternatives at a glance

Seven alternatives, Omnipresence first, with what each is best for and the starting price on the vendor’s own page.

Omnipresence

This is the pick for teams that work with their own agent. A Profound user would switch for the chain. Omnipresence joins every prompt to the fanout queries it fired and the sources those queries pulled back, including pages retrieved but never cited, and it separates a recommendation from a passing mention.

The rate comes with a Wilson confidence band, and control prompts never get optimisation work, so you can tell whether a lift came from your work. The target and the method then go to your own agent over MCP, with a work log of what changed and when.

The trade is engine count. Profound tracks up to 9 engines, including AI Overviews, Copilot and DeepSeek. Omnipresence tracks four assistants only, ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini and Perplexity, and you bring your own model key.

Not every run returns a ranked list of choices, so the top-choice view is partial. It starts at $19 a month on Starter, billed annually, with a 7-day trial on Pro.

Otterly.AI

Otterly is the cheap, published-price entry, and it suits small budgets and a first test. It publishes its prices and starts at $29 a month, with no sales call. Every plan tracks four engines, ChatGPT, Google AI Overviews, Perplexity and Microsoft Copilot, and Claude, Google AI-Mode and Gemini come as paid add-ons.

The Lite plan covers 15 prompts a month, which is enough to taste the category but not to run a real programme. Fifteen prompts is a pretty small sample, and the engines a Profound user would miss, like Claude and DeepSeek, cost extra or aren’t on the list.

Peec AI

Peec is best for focused tracking across the chat assistants. It tracks ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini and AI Mode, with role-based permissions down to the project. It lists four plans, Starter through Enterprise, but doesn’t publish a USD price for any of them, so you talk to sales to get a number.

The limit is transparency. Without a published price you can’t bench it against the others without a call, and it names fewer engines than Profound’s Enterprise.

Scrunch

Scrunch is best for mid-size brands that want published pricing and broad engine coverage. It tracks eight engines, including ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Perplexity, Google AI Mode, Google AI Overviews, Meta AI and Microsoft Copilot, with Grok listed as coming soon. Its Starter plan runs $250 a month billed annually for 3 user licenses and 350 custom prompts.

The limit is entry cost and engine depth. $250 a month is more than Otterly to start, and Scrunch doesn’t yet track DeepSeek, which Profound’s Enterprise does. Month-to-month is $300 if you don’t commit to a year.

AthenaHQ

AthenaHQ is best for teams that want many models early. Its free Essential plan covers 5 models, ChatGPT, Perplexity, Google AI Overviews, Gemini and Copilot, on 300 credits a month. Its Starter plan runs $295 a month and adds 11+ models, including AI Mode, Claude, Grok, DeepSeek, Meta AI and Mistral, on 3,600 credits.

The limit is the credit model. One credit is one AI response, so 3,600 credits a month is a fixed ceiling, and the free plan covers only the five base models.

Goodie

Goodie is best for teams that want a strategist in the loop. Its Core plan is $399 a month with AEO strategist support, five core models, 120 prompts and a 7-day trial. Enterprise scales to 13 models, from ChatGPT, Claude, Perplexity and Gemini through to Meta AI, DeepSeek, Grok and Alexa for Shopping, and its Agentic Commerce suite handles product visibility at SKU level.

The limit is price. $399 a month is the highest entry on this list, and the Core plan covers only 5 of those 13 models.

Semrush AI Visibility Toolkit

Semrush’s toolkit is best for teams that want a standalone AI visibility product from a known SEO vendor. It’s a standalone product at $99 a month per domain, billed annually, so you don’t need a full Semrush plan to use it. It tracks four engines, ChatGPT, Google AI, Gemini and Perplexity, and it lives in the Semrush interface if you already use it.

The limit is scope. Four engines is fewer than Profound, and the per-domain pricing means a multi-brand agency pays $99 for each domain it tracks.

How much does Profound cost, and how the alternatives price

Profound doesn’t publish a standard USD price. Its trial runs 50 prompts a day for 7 days on ChatGPT, Gemini and AI Overviews, and its Enterprise plan is custom, with up to 9 answer engines and an FAQ mention of a self-serve Agency Growth plan that carries no published figure. So the only way to know the number is a demo.

The alternatives publish, mostly. Otterly starts at $29, Scrunch at $250, AthenaHQ at $295 for Starter with a free plan below it, Goodie at $399, and Semrush at $99 per domain. Peec doesn’t publish a price.

Omnipresence starts at $19 a month billed annually, and you bring your own model key, so the token cost, which its page estimates at around $0.12 per prompt per run across all four assistants, sits on top of the software fee. What moves the number differs by tool: Otterly and Scrunch price by prompts and seats, AthenaHQ by credits, Goodie by models and prompts, Semrush by domain, and Omnipresence by plan tier plus your own token cost. Annual billing drops the price on most of them.

How to choose a Profound alternative

Pick by the engines you actually need, the price model you can budget, and who does the work with the result.

Which engines do you need? If your buyers ask on AI Overviews, Copilot and DeepSeek, a tool that tracks them, like AthenaHQ or Goodie, wins. If the four chat assistants are enough, Omnipresence covers those.

How do you want to pay? A published monthly price you can budget, like Otterly’s $29, Scrunch’s $250 or Semrush’s $99, suits a fixed budget. A credit or token model, like AthenaHQ’s credits or Omnipresence’s bring-your-own-key token cost, suits a team that wants the number to scale with usage.

Who does the work with the result? A tool that hands you a score still needs you to act on it. One that hands the target and the method to your own agent, like Omnipresence, ships the fix and logs it.

If you relied on Profound’s Agent Analytics, check what each tool shows about how AI crawlers and agents view and cite your pages. Profound and Goodie both name an agent-analytics feature, and Omnipresence shows it as the chain, the sources behind each answer including pages retrieved but not cited. To evaluate any of these without leaning on someone else’s review, run it on one brand for a week, read the vendor’s own docs for the engines on your plan, and check the limit against what you actually track.

If you want to see the chain behind your own answers, you can point Omnipresence at one brand for a week.
