Activity log
What the account activity log records, how to read an entry, and why it matters once more than one person can change a project.
Updated October 20, 2026
The activity log on the Account screen is an append-only record of administrative actions. It answers one question well: who changed this, and when.
What is recorded
| Event | What happened |
|---|---|
member.invite | Someone was invited |
member.remove | Someone was removed |
member.role | A role was changed between Admin and Marketer |
member.grants | A Marketer's project access was changed |
project.pause | A project was paused |
project.resume | A project was resumed |
project.cancel | A project was cancelled |
Each entry carries who did it and when.
What is not recorded here
Work on a project. Editing a prompt, rewriting a page or claiming a source is not an administrative action, and those are recorded where they belong: an optimization is logged against the fanout, the source or the page it targeted, with its date, which is what lets a later change be attributed to it.
So there are two trails by design. The activity log is about access and lifecycle; the optimization log is about work. Looking for the wrong one in the wrong place is the usual confusion.
Why it matters with a team
Three situations where it is the only answer:
- A project went quiet. Somebody paused it. The log says who and when, and the gap in the trend lines up with the entry.
- Someone lost access. A grants change, usually made while tidying up a different client.
- A former teammate's trail. Removing a seat does not remove their history. The log keeps the attribution, which matters for a handover and occasionally for a dispute.
Reading it after an incident
Work backwards from the date the data changed shape. A gap in a chart with a project.pause on the same day is a complete explanation, and it takes ten seconds rather than an afternoon of looking at run failures.
An API key is account-level access that does not appear here, because a key is not a person. When someone leaves, check the log for their seat and then check the API keys separately. See API keys.
Questions about activity log
- Does it record data changes like editing a prompt?
- No. It records administrative actions on the account and project lifecycle. Work on a project is recorded as optimizations against the thing that was worked.
- Can an entry be deleted?
- No. An append-only record is the only kind worth having.
- Which plans have it?
- Agency and Enterprise. On a smaller team the answer to "who did this" is usually obvious.
